Stuck? We recently found this delightful little book full of inventive solutions, including many designed for three-dimensional pentominoes such as our puzzlebooks. We even learned a few things from it!

Why is the "P" piece so useful? Which pieces are symmetrical, and how does symmetry affect the outcome of the solution? Which piece has a perimeter different from all the others? We were so impressed we decided to carry the book for our customers. An easier way is to show the layers one after another, writing letters for any pieces which are not complete. All the solutions in the back are written in this way. Swapping the top and bottom layers gives you a mirror image of the original.
